One Health Ecodomics

Trainees & Prerequisites:

Targets: Faculty staff and researchers and governmental workers or One health practitioners and professionals who work in human, animal and environmental health.

Prerequisites: Strong background and knowledge in One Health (OH).

Training outcomes:

After complement of the workshop, the trainees are expected to be able to

      1. understand economic principles associated with One Health (OH) issues or researches
      2. describe principle of One Health Economics (OHE) tools or models
      3. analyze local and national OH problems/issues, benefits and challenges of OHE
      4. apply the most relevant OHE in studies or research to address OH issues

Learning Assessment:

Participation in the course (100 %) and complement in-class assignment/or exercise outputs (100%).

Course Description and Training Methods:

This course will provide learners the overview of OH issues and current application of OHE tools and models at sector and national level. Concepts and principles of OHE will be reinforced and practiced through presentation and participatory exercises and case-based learning of the rabies control program facilitated by the One Health and Health Economics experts.

  • Cost analysis of the One Health interventions
  • Methods for economic evaluation of the OH interventions
